Rajeev’s a show-stopper literally!
Rajeev Khandelwal’s role in Left Right Left has ended, but there’s buzz that his quitting hasn’t gone too well with the serial makers Deeya and Tony Singh.
Apparently in the last few days the tension escalated. Rajeev even had a showdown with Tony, we hear. Well, well, now what do we say?
It just seems like history is repeating itself. Remember a couple of years ago something similar had happened between Rajeev and producer Ekta Kapoor when he quit her popular show Kahin Toh Hoga?

First b’day of Left Right Left
In times when television serials are pulled off air after a three-month telecast, completing a year is definitely a milestone. One that calls for a celebration.
So on Thursday night, Deeya and Tony Singh hosted a bash to celebrate the first birthday of their serial Left Right Left on SAB TV and along with the cast of the serial, a number of their friends also showed up to revel in the good times.
A gorgeous looking Aparna Tilak came solo, but hung around with Priyanka Bassi (who let her down and grooved the night away) and Vikas Manaktala.

Changing face(s) of serials – Rajeev’s comments.
Change in TV actors playing popular characters has now become a routine. LT find out how these changes affect the TRPs and the viewers.
What’s in a face? Quite a lot actually. But talk of frequent change of actors playing popular characters on the small screen and you’ll be forced to think otherwise.
We are referring to Anurag Basu of Kasautii Zindagii Kay , Sujal of Kahin To Hoga and the larger- than-life character of Tulsi in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi .
These shows are running as successfully as they did before these changes were made. And it makes one wonder if replacing an actor with a new one actually matters? LT talks to TV actors, directors, producers and TRP agencies on how discomforting this change can be for a ‘loyal’ viewer.

Indian telly’s not so funny anymore – Rajeev’s comments
Not just the audience, even actors are switching over to American sitcoms.
Channels are terming it as comedy’s second innings. What with a new stand-up comedy show coming up everyday, one would think that the Indian audience would be left laughing their guts out.
However, youngsters are unanimous in their opinion that the slapstick stand-up acts on TV are distinctly unfunny and they are switching on to sitcoms like Friends, Sienfeld, Full House and others. Who cares if they are into their nth rerun!
As anchor Mini Mathur says, “I only watch American sitcoms on telly. Indian comedy serials are seriously unfunny and very me-too in their approach. There is such dumbing down of concepts that urban youth can find nothing in common with them. And one can’t watch daily soaps with their unidimensional characters and stories that never come to an end.”

Rajeev – One Of The Hottest Men On TV
LT asked a few of telly s leading ladies to tell us who they think are the hottest men on TV. Their responses – Rajeev Khandelwal and Rohit Roy – shouldn’t come as surprises to anyone…
They might be haute property on television, but that doesn’t stop tele’s leading ladies from having their own hot favourites! Lucknow Times spoke to a few screen sizzlers to find out who makes their heart go dhak dhak and trust us Rohit Roy and Rajeev Khandelwal seem to have beaten the rest for the top slot. But there are other names too. Read on… Put the question to Sangeeta Ghosh and it sets her thinking before she finally manages to say, “There isn’t any one who’s actually hot, but yes there are some good looking actors like Shabbir and Rohit Roy. In fact, I even find Kiran Kumar quite good looking and believe me, they look even better on screen!” And then adds as an after thought, “Come to think of it, all the actors who work with me are good looking!”
But Sangeeta isn’t the only one who finds it difficult to name a ‘hot’ looking male on the s m a l l screen, even actor Mandira Bedi seems to be facing the same dilemma. “I don’t find any man on TV hot enough but yes, there are some good looking actors, Rajeev Khandelwal is one. But I’m only talking about his onscreen persona, I haven’t met him in person,” says Mandira.
Roshni Chopra on the other hand seems to have worked out the names well in advance. Ask her and she’s quick to respond: “Rohit Roy, Iqbal Khan and Ram Kapoor are certainly hot. They exude charisma both on and off screen,” she rattles off.
Actor Neha Mehta is also quite clear about her choice. “I find Rohit Roy hot both on and off screen. Besides Rohit, Anand Suryavanshi who has worked with me in Mamta and Rajeev Khandelwal are also hot, but Rohit remains the ultimate choice. He’s gifted with great looks and a good voice, which contribute in making him so impressive .” Interestingly some of the ladies can’t think of even a single name. Achint Kaur for instance speaks candidly , “I don’t find any male actor hot because my definition of hot is not just great looks. For me a man must also be intelligent if he has to be hot and unfortunately I have not found anyone so intelligent,” Wow!
